Benin President Mathieu Kerekou has hailed the role played by the United Arab Emirates, under the leadership of President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in extending humanitarian assistance to the needy throughout the world.

In addition, President Kerekou expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE Red Crescent Society under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, for the charitable projects implemented by the UAE RCS for the benefit of the people of his country, according to Emirates News Agency.

These remarks were made by President Kerekou in the course of his meeting with the RCS delegation headed by Saleh Mohammed Al Mu'lla, Deputy Secretary General for External Affairs, who recently visited Benin.

The RCS team also met with the Beninese Minister of Health, who discussed the bad health situation in her country and the need for more assistants in the Beninese health field. (Albawaba.com)
