In Algeria, thirty-nine people were wounded on Tuesday when a train smashed into another at the central train station in the capital city of Algiers, officials said.

All of the injured passengers were taken to a hospital and "after a preliminary examination, none of them appears to be in serious condition," said Interior Minister Yazid Zerhouni, cited by AFP.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the crash, but preliminary reports indicate that driver error may have been responsible for the crash, in which one suburban train smashed into another, Zerhouni added. (Albawaba.com)
