The death of the leader of the armed Islamic Group Antar Zawabri will cull into the strength and effectiveness of the Group's terrorist operations, said Anees Rahmani, a journalist at "Alkhabar" daily on Saturday.
Zawabri's death leaves a huge gap in the leadership of the Islamic group which has been a formidable foe of government authorities over the past few years, said Rahmani, whose articles reflect the government's viewpoint in the war against Islamist extremists.
With his death, allegations of collusion between the government and the Islamic armed group, which sometimes surfaced and were given credence to by government, opposition parties and human rights groups, have now been put to rest, he said. (Albawaba.com)
