The Tunisian city of Thibar hosted recently an Agenda 21 conference, organized by the Association for the Development of Djebba in conjunction with the Tunisian Department of Environment, with the aim of promoting and protecting the natural and cultural properties of the area.

Agenda 21 is an international plan of action, carried out simultaneously on a global, national and local scale by various organizations of the United Nations, Governments, and Major Groups in all areas, in which men affect the environment. It obtained its worldwide scale in the international summit that was held in Rio de Janeiro.

La Presse reports that the Agenda 21 has been a great success in several Tunisian cities, such as Nebeur, Medjez El Bab, Jendouba and El Krib, where it was already implemented.
