ALBAWABA- At least five Pakistani soldiers were killed and more than 30 others injured on Sunday when a suicide bomber from the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) rammed an explosives-laden car into a military convoy in Balochistan, police told AFP.

The convoy, consisting of seven buses, was en route to Taftan on the Iranian border when the attack took place in Noshki, a town in the volatile province.

"A car packed with explosives struck one of the buses, causing massive casualties," said police official Mohammed Zafar.

The BLA, the main separatist group in Balochistan, claimed responsibility for the bombing, stating that it was carried out by its suicide attack unit.

This latest assault comes just days after the group launched a deadly attack on a train carrying 450 passengers, triggering a two-day siege that resulted in dozens of deaths.

Last Wednesday, the Balochistan Liberation Army(BLA) hijacked a passenger train, holding hundreds of passengers hostage. A military rescue operation ended in bloodshed, with dozens of soldiers, militants, and hostages killed.

Violence in Balochistan has surged, with separatist rebels accusing the government of exploiting the province’s rich natural resources.

The unrest has also spilled into neighboring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where three security personnel were killed in an attack on Saturday evening, according to police sources.
