ALBAWABA- Armed militants attacked and halted the Jaffar Express in Pakistan’s Balochistan region, leaving multiple passengers injured and sparking a security emergency.

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the assault on the train traveling from Quetta to Rawalpindi, stating it had seized control and taken hostages, including security personnel.

Police reported at least 11 Pakistani soldiers were killed, and three people, including the train driver, were injured in the attack.

At the same time, security forces were deployed to the Mushqaf area in the Bolan district, where the incident took place.

Balochistan’s government has declared an emergency, mobilizing institutions to respond to the crisis.

Meanwhile, railway officials confirmed that 400-450 passengers were aboard, with women and children disembarking and walking toward Sibi for safety.

The BLA, a separatist militant group waging a decades-long insurgency for independence, has frequently targeted government forces, infrastructure, and Chinese interests in the region. The group has warned of “severe consequences” if any rescue attempt is made.
