Umm Kulthoum Fans to Hear 10 Previously Unreleased Songs

Voice of Cairo Audiovisual Company has begun recording 10 national albums of Umm Kulthum’s music, including 15 previously unreleased songs. 

No-one has ever heard these tunes before, according to the London-based Al Sharq Al Awsat daily. 

The songs are: 

 Uthkuru Sa’adan (Remember Sa’ad) sung by Umm Kulthum on the 40th anniversary of the death of Saad Zaghlool in 1927. Written by Ahmed Rami and composed by Mohammed Al Qasabji. 

 Nashid Al Jamia’ah (University Anthem), 1937. Written by Ahmed Rami and composed by Riyadh Al Sunbati. 

 Al Nil (The Nile), 1949. Written by Ahmed Shawki and composed by Riyadh Al Sunbati. 

 Bain Ahdain (Between Two Eras), 1949. Written by Ahmed Rami and composed by Riyadh Al Sunbati. 

 Zahrat Al Rabia (Spring Flower), 1945. Written by Mohammed Al Asmar and composed by Zakariyya Ahmed on the anniversary of the establishment of the Arab League. 

 Wafi Al Ardi Sharr Makadireh, 1946. Written by Ahmed Shawki and composed by Riyadh Al Sunbati on the topic of unity between Egypt and Sudan. 

 Al Malek Baina Yadaika Fi Iqbaleh. Written by Ahmed Shawki and composed by Sunbati, and sung at King Farouq’s coronation ceremony. 

 Ijmae’e Ya Misr Azhar Al Amani (Egypt, Collect Flowers of Hope), 1938. Written by Rami and composed by Sunbati. 

 Laha Noor Al Fajr Fi Eid Al Juloos (The Dawn Light Appears on the Crowning Day). Written by Rami and composed by Qasabji. 

 Ya Maliki Al Hosn Sajada Laka (My King, Beauty Bowed for You). Written by Bairam Al Tunisi and composed by Zakariyya Ahmed. 

 Waliduna Jamal Abdel Naser (Our Father Jamal Abdel Naser). Written by Nizar Qabbani and composed by Riyadh Al Sunbati - Albawaba.com
