Hard to believe for those who heard the man swear blue he wouldn't sing at Ramadan, but for the first time in five years, Egypt's Tamer Husni, who recently collaborated with Snoop Lion (formerly known as Snoop Dog), has decided to break his own rules to sing during the holiest of months.
Tamer's turning point comes after he had reserved the Holy Month as his habitual singing moratorium and time-off his 'career' so that he could dedicate himself to worship, prayer and family visits.

According to Dunya Al Watan website, in a statement released by Tamer Husni to Al Arabiya.net, he claims his own song made him revoke his decision to never sing during the holy month of Ramadan. The song, "Ibda'a Binafsak" ( Start with Yourself), composed and produced by Tamer himself, inspired his departure from his self-appointed Ramadan quiet time, because the song itself is suitably calm and spiritual, a choice hit for the holy month of contemplation. It is due out within the next few days.
Tamer wanted it known that the song is not a purely religious song, but more of a soulful friendly upbeat religious number. He told the press that during Ramadan, he likes to recite the Holy Qaran, get closer to God, and perform his prayers night and day, because Ramadan only comes around once a year. He positively leaps at the opportunity to get closer to God.
