Syrian Qaysar series to details Sednaya prison tragic torture stories

Qaysar series to talk about torture in Sednaya Prison in Damascus

ALBAWABA - Shooting for the new series, titled Qaysar (Caesar), has begun in the Syrian capital, Damascus, on Feb. 24, which will talk about the torture stories that took place in Sednaya Prison.

It is worth noting that Sednaya Prison was referred to as the "human slaughterhouse" to highlight the tragic torturing techniques that were taking place inside during the presidency of Bashar Assad, who was ousted last December.

Qaysar series: 

The Qaysar series is written by a group of great writers; Najib Naseer, Adnan Awda, Zuhair Al-Mulla, Mu'ayyad Al-Nabulsi, and Louay Al-Nouri, while the director is Safwan Mustafa Ne'mou.

Qaysar series to talk about torture in Sednaya Prison in Damascus

The series is produced by "POWER Production", under the supervision of the artistic producer Yamen Set Al-Banin. The Syrian Qaysar series is expected to consist of 30 episodes divided into 10 trilogies.

A group of Syrian stars will be participating in the series, and according to the circulated details, the first trilogy will be called Darb El-Alam (The Path of Pain) and it is written by Zehila Al-Mulla.

Stars Ghassan Massoud, Dana Mardini, and Rami Ahmar will be starring in the first and the first trilogy will star.

It is still not confirmed yet when the series will be aired, however, many rumors on social media claim that the Qaysar series could compete with other series in Ramadan 2025.
