Politics can sometimes affect an artist's career, especially if they're opposed to the government of their native country.
Syrian actor Jamal Suliman, who's opposed to the government of President Bashar Al Assad, has been stripped of his Syrian Actors Syndicate membership by Zuhair Ramadan.
While many suspected that this will affect the actor's career in Egypt, the Egyptian Actors Syndicate's acting head, Sameh al Suraity, debunked the speculations by stating that Suliman is treated like any other Arab actor working in Egypt, adding that the Syrian Actors Syndicate's decision has not affected him in any shape or form.
The Egyptian Actors Syndicate requires that any foreign actor wishing to work in Egypt must first obtain residency in Egypt. If he or she is part of a syndicate in their own country, they must pay 10 thousand Egyptian Pounds; if they aren't, their working fees in Egypt will go up to 20 thousand Egyptian Pounds.
