ALBAWABA - Israeli military authorities and local media reports say Israel has put its military on high alert, amid fears of a Hezbollah retaliation over an Israeli strike on Beirut on Sunday.
The Israeli army said it was bracing for possible incoming strikes in the coming hours, and beefed up security along the northern front.
The Israeli media stated that the Air Force has bolstered its operational presence above Lebanon, sending extra fighter jets and surveillance drones in an attempt to monitor potential threats and be prepared for any escalation.
The heightened awareness comes after an Israeli attack in Beirut that has sparked worries of fresh confrontation with Hezbollah at a time of already high tensions in the area.
Tehran must burn tonight, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said separately, demanding a harder line against Iran after the two sides resumed missile exchanges.
The revelations come amid a critical period of the conflict involving Israel, Iran and their regional supporters, with growing concerns that the battle could spill over from its present fronts and drag more parties into the confrontation.
Any direct response from Hezbollah may considerably broaden the scope of the battle, adding another layer of instability to an already fragile region, security specialists warn.
