ALBAWABA - U.S. President Donald Trump says the American military is ready for anything as tensions between Iran and Israel escalate following new missile assaults and worries of a broader regional confrontation.

"You shot your missiles, that's enough," Trump said in an interview with Fox News, urging Tehran to return to negotiations after Iran launched missiles toward Israel. "Return to the table and cut a deal."

The president’s comments came as Israel reported a new wave of Iranian missile launches, activating air raid sirens in many northern areas. Israeli authorities said air defence systems stopped the approaching rockets, although officials cautioned the security situation remains highly unpredictable.

Trump also repeated that the United States is ready to use military force if American troops come under assault. In earlier comments cited by Fox News, he warned that any killing of U.S. personnel will be met with swift military force.

The latest escalation followed Israeli attacks on Beirut that sparked Iranian retaliation and fueled worries the crisis could spill beyond the current battlefield. Israeli authorities also warned of a possible Hezbollah reaction, ratcheting up military readiness along Israel’s northern front.

U.S. military forces remain active in the region, however. US forces have recently shot down Iranian drones and missiles targeting Gulf allies and the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting Washington’s increasing role in efforts to control the crisis and safeguard regional partners.

The war begins its 100th day with military forces across the Middle East still bracing for the risk of additional escalation and diplomatic attempts stuck where they are. Trump’s new words suggest Washington still wants to negotiate with Tehran, but is prepared for military action if temperatures grow.
