It seems that bad luck has surrounded Egyptian folk singer Hakim who was hoping to be one of the main judges on the new talent program "Najm Al Shaeb" (Star of the People) on the Egyptian network Al Mihwar.

According to Sayidaty.net, news reports have it that the show has entirely been cancelled due to financial problems faced by the network. Some reports state that there are other factors involved in cancelling the program beside financial ones, especially since the network is preparing for a new variety of programs to air on its channels. It was added that the network has laid off a number of its current broadcasters in an attempt to make a revamp for the channel.

Before calling the program "Najm Al Saeb" off, the network had promoted for it through a number of television commercials.

Previously, Hakim was an assistance judge on the program "Shiklak Mu Ghareeb" (You Look Familure) that was aired on the network MBC Egypt and featured Lebanese diva Haifa Wehbe as the main judge alongside Egyptian director Mohammad Sami.
