Misfortune has become to be a tradition with Lebanese singer Najwa Karam every year as she releases a new album. It is apparent that this year the singer has been jinxed once more as it was clearly noticed that her latest album “Sahirni" (Mesmerized) has a deformity in its sound quality. Fan realized that the voice of Najwa in the album is not normal and knew it was not up to her usual standards.

According to the Saudi based daily, Al Riyadh, Rotana, which is the company that produced and distributed Najwa’s album, did not comment on the fact that they released an album before being 100 percent positive it is flawless. The company had also refused all attempts by the media to make any public announcement regarding the matter.

Tony, Najwa’s brother who is also her business manager, had refused to make any comments regarding the deformed copies of the album fearing to create a commotion in the music industry and only saying that all bad copies will be pulled out and replaced with new and flawless ones.

It was added that Najwa is currently experiencing a case of depression as a result of the misfortune. The singer had put all her hope in her latest album wanting it to be a breakthrough in her career.

Rotana had released Najwa’s album last week, which is the singers return to the traditional folkloric Lebanese style. The singer has worked with a number of prominent Lebanese poets and composers to complete the work.

The album was to mark Najwa's last album with Rotana according to a contract she has with them, which will be terminated after the release. It is still unclear whether or not Najwa will renew her contract but after the latest mix-up, it is more probably she will. Her upcoming album consists of seven songs.

Najwa stressed that she will never again film any of her songs in the form of a music video. Najwa’s decision came after the failure of her last music video for the song “Iw’a Itkoun Za’ilit” (I Hope you are not Upset), which did not witness any interest among viewers or even herself.

Karam made her debut in the music world in 1985, with her participation in “Layali Lobnan” (Nights of Lebanon) performing Asmahan’s song “Layali Al Ons” (Nights of Pleasure). She was awarded the program’s Golden Medal for her outstanding performance at the event. – Albawaba.com
