Tunisian superstar Latifa ain't afraid to speak her mind! The singer described a Black List released by Tunisian President Munsif Al Marzouqi containing a list of people connected to former ousted President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali as "meaningless."
The list of course included her own name and fellow Tunisian singer Saber Rebai.
According to Laha Magazine, with a satirical sense of humor, Latifa said during a press conference held in the Tunisian capital last week, "Al Marzouqi can write what he pleases: A black, green or even purple list.”
The peaceful starlet stressed that what Tunisia now needs is a "new white page."
And although many celebs were criticized for taking part in performances held for ousted Presidents around the Middle East, Latifa said that she's not ashamed of having taken part in numerous events celebrating Ben Ali when he was in power.
What makes Latifa confident in her statements is that she held all her concerts for FREE at the time - she stressed that she never received a penny from the former government as alleged, and claimed to be the only Tunisian singer to personally fund the production of her own albums.
Speaking of music albums, Latifa said that her latest album "Ahla Haga Fiya" (The Best Thing in Me) took three years to complete, but it's all been worth it as all its sales will go to the charity "Nas Khair."
