ALBAWABA - Iran launched waves of missile attacks against Israel on June 7 in retaliation against Tel Aviv's aggressive strikes on southern Lebanon and Beirut's southern suburbs.

In response, Israel launched airstrikes on western and central Iran, as blasts were reported in several cities including Tehran, Isfahan, and Tabriz.

Local media in Iran announced today that a "hostile drone" was shot down over the capital Tehran. "A hostile drone belonging to the American-Zionist enemy was targeted and destroyed by air defences in the skies over Tehran," the Mehr news agency said, without elaborating.
