Egyptian actor Khaled Abu Al Naja has given rise to controversy about posting a comment on his official page on the social network Twitter proposing to marry the woman who was dragged and beaten by Egyptian military officers activist Ghada Kamal.
Khaled stated that his statement is a political stance which expresses his resentment to the manner in which Ghada was brutally treated by the military for taking part in a demonstration calling for an end to the Military Council’s rule. He added that no one will allow the women of Egypt to be treated in such a barbaric manner and marrying Ghada is an honor for him and any man in the world.
Khaled added that with his statement he joins the voices of all Egyptians that refuse to have women be treated in such a way. The actor stated that he wanted to show Ghada that she should be proud of herself for she stood up to the military and spoke out about the treatment she received while in custody despite all threats.
Khaled is known to be one of the most active stars taking part in the demonstration in Egypt since the beginning of the January 25 Revolution that overthrew the government of President Husni Mubarak.
