While it really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, it was certainly still a dissapoint for Haifa Wehbe and her film director, Shireen Adel, that the theme song for their new television drama 'Mawlid wa Sahbo Ghayeb' came out on YouTube before its Ramadan release.
The first name to be thrown in the mud for the incident was Egyptian folk singer Essam Karika. He called the drama's writer to deny blame for the Internet leak, saying that it was certainly not his voice singing the song nor was he connected in any way.
According to the Middle East news portal Elaph, Essam said that he understands the state of anger the cast and crew of the drama were in, especially since they wanted it to be a surprise.
Filming for the show is still in process keeping in track for Ramadan readiness, but the channels that will be airing are stil TBA.
