Lebanese singer Ghassan al Rahbani performed his new song al Jomhur A’yez Kidah (The Public Wants Like This) along with his troupe, Ghassan Rahbani Group, Friday evening at Virgin Mega Store in the Center of Beirut.
“The idea of the song has originated from the fact that the producers and media establishments classify the public in one class and provide it with low quality music. As for me, I can see that the public does not want that. The Arab public and the Lebanese in particular understand and have a high artistic taste as evidenced by the intensive attendance of festivals. For example 2000 persons used to attend the play Abu al Tayyeb al Mutanabbi each night which means that people do not want low quality concerts anymore,” Rahbani told the daily al Nahar.
Rahbani used Hard Rock Music in his song as he sees that “all people have no problem with music. The most important thing is that words should reach people who should feel them and there is no objection by people to receive them through the Rock and Roll Music.”
Rahbani is currently gearing up for a complete CD in English and another one in Arabic to include a song on traffic jam and pollution under the title Bala Mokh (Without Mentality) and another song entitled Mashkel Bi al Zae’em (Hard Rock).
After one week the Four Cats troupe will release Tal Entithari CD which was preceded by the musical video the Song on the TV under the direction of Shadi Hanna. The new troupe singers will sing along with Ghassan al Rahbani -- Albawaba.com
