There might be a cure in store for Egyptian actor Khaled al Sawi's Hepatitis C.
Last week, the star sadly announced that he's one of the 10% of people whose bodies are unresponsive to the medication used for the treatment of the disease.
Today, however, he holds onto a glimmer of hope as the Egyptian government announced a new type of medication, which may set him free of the illness.
Khaled reportedly wrote on his official Facebook page saying, "Good news, a new medication has been discovered and is available at the Ministry of Health in Egypt. It's currently being distributed to every patient who meets their criteria. This means that 10 to 12 million sick Egyptians will get this medication and it is said that there is a 90 percent chance that they will be completely cured from Hepatitis C."
He added, "To make a long story short, the state of worry regarding my condition has been lifted with the help of God. If the medication is not available in Egypt, then it is available abroad; I will be treated and will, God willing, be healed."
The actor added that he was diagnosed with the illness in 2005 while filming "Amaret Ya'koubian." He had never announced it to the public until now because he was doing a good job with conquering it.
