Comedy never takes a night off in Dubai. Whether you’re craving performances by renowned comedians who have toured the world’s most popular clubs and festivals, or rising artists from the city’s own talent pool, you’ll find something for everyone. Sprinkle in some funny to your July plans with these must-see comedy shows in Dubai.

1. Top tier tickles at The Laughter Factory

In the running to be the best and brightest names in comedy, Nick Page, Peter Flanagan and Danny O’Brien are headlining the July run of The Laughter Factory. Watch them keep Dubai’s oldest comedy night going during a Supper Club edition with knee-slapping sets, each strikingly different yet equally hilarious. From Page’s masterful telling of outlandish stories to Flanagan’s clever Irish wit and O’Brien steady charm, you’ll find plenty of moments to chuckle while you chew. Attend shows on 16 July and 17 July at the Movenpick Hotel in JBR, 22 July at Zabeel House by Jumeirah in The Greens, and 23 July and 24 July at Grand Millennium Dubai.

When: 16-17 July & 22-24 July

Where: Movenpick Hotel JBR, Zabeel House by Jumeirah, Grand Millennium Dubai

2. Attend a comedy mask off

Homegrown stars on the rapid rise, Arzoo Malhotra, Tabarak Razvi, Maher Barwany and Miqdaad Dohadwala are bringing some light-hearted festivities to 2020. Get your tickets to see each of the stars dish out what’s currently on in life, relationships, work and everything in between at The Junction in Alserkal Avenue. Malhotra is already a voice heard around the world, having made her mark at the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019. Pakistani expat Razvi is an ad man by day and a comic/DJ/filmmaker by night, while Barwany is a frequent face on Dubai’s comedy stages. Last but not least, Dohadwala is presenting his show Unsolicited Advice to audiences for the first time ever.

When: 17 July

Where: The Junction, Alserkal Avenue

3. Sing along to a live musical rom-com

Just one day after Dubai’s comedy stars set the stage on fire with unbridled hilarity, local actors Wim Hoste and Suzie Demetri Robertson will cool it down with Don’t You Forget About Me. Named after Simple Minds’ 1985 hit, this musical tells the unlikely romance of a cruise ship singer named Allen and Chloe, a sought-after model, through classic songs. The two have completely different lives with little reason for overlap, yet they manage to set off on a passionate adventure that will lure you in with laughter and catchy tunes.

When: 18 July

Where: The Junction, Alserkal Avenue
