Amal Arafa back in the spotlight in "Cry of the Soul"

Despite being absent from the acting scene for over a year now, Syrian actress Amal Arafa will be making a comeback in the sequel drama “Sarkhat Rouh” (Cry of the Soul).

Sayidaty.net reported that a number of Syrian writers worked on the script, and that Eyad Nahhas will be directing the show.

What makes the production special is the variety of topics tackled throughout the series. Each episode will feature a different social topic faced by everyday people in society.

Such issues include marital betrayal, doubt and forbidden intimate premarital relationships.

Amal will star in five episodes, which will be filmed in Damasacus. Other celebs starring alongside Amal include Abdel Minem Amayri, Marah Jabir, Mu'tasim Al Nahar, Lina Diab and many others.

Amal, who was living in Dubai, has now moved back to Damascus with her husband and children. The singer recorded a new song dedicated to Syria titled “Badawwer Ala Hali” (Searching for Myself).
