Dubai police contacted the family of a mentally ill man who threw himself in front of a car on Al Sa’adah Street and then fell asleep in the road, according to Emirates 24/7.
Emirates 24/7 also stated that after Major-General Mohammed Saif Al Zafin, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations, Dubai Police arrested the man, he could obviously tell the man was mentally ill, and asked the family to institutionalize him for the safety of both the man and the public.
Maj. Gen Al Zafin also urged the public to report any negative behavior on the road to the “We Are All Police” program by calling 8004353.
