Terrorism will spread if Israel fails to address "fundamental" issues with the Palestinians, Egyptian President Hosny Mubarak warned on Wednesday during talks in Italy with Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The Egyptian leader slammed Israel's refusal to address the definitive borders of a future Palestinian state during. According to him, Israel's insistence on discussing only "secondary issues" threatened to stall any peaceful resolution of the conflict.
"Then we will see terrorism increase and spread throughout the world," Mubarak said, according to Reuters.
On his part, Berlusconi said Italy, together with its international allies, is "putting pressure" on both the Israelis and Palestinians to resume negotiations.
