Canon Middle East sees brighter picture in 2011

Canon Middle East, a leader in imaging and business solutions sees bright prospects in 2011 following another stellar year in 2010. To recognise the efforts of the company’s IT channel partners, Canon Middle East handed out achievement awards to its top performing distributors and resellers throughout the region at a gathering which was attended by more than 120 , IT channel partners across UAE.
“We had an exceptional year in 2010, and part of the credit goes to our channel partners who did a great job in pushing Canon products in their respective markets,” said Mr. Naoshi Yamada, deputy managing director, Canon Middle East. “We intend to sustain this momentum in 2011, and we are expecting an even more robust performance because of new products, a more focused customer approach, and enhanced incentives for our channel partners.”
Earth Gate Trading received the distinction of being the best Channel Partner, emerging as the Overall Winner among Canon’s channel partners in the region. The company also received the Best in Canon Inkjet Consumables awards.
Category winners include Al Raed Trading Company for Best in Canon Inkjet Printers and Multifunctional; Blue Bell Computers, Best in Canon Laser Printers and Multifunctional; Accent Supplies, Best in Canon Laser Consumables; and Al Noori Computers, which received twin citations - Best in Fax Consumables and Best in Canon Copier and Copier Consumables.
Mr. Hendrik Verbrugghe, marketing director, Canon Middle East, presented the awards along with Yamada and other Canon top executives, and said, “In addition to these awards, we are happy to announce that we have developed a more rewarding incentive scheme for outstanding achievers in the first quarter and first half of 2011 as we aim for an even more exceptional results this year.”
Verbrugghe also revealed that the company is enhancing its channel network with a more focused Channel Account Manager approach to the market. “This way we can leverage on the strength and depth of the existing channel network to get better coverage of our target markets,” he added.
One other important impact the new channel strategy hopes to achieve is for consumers to have a single window for the entire range of Canon products. “This allows for a much more significant level of interaction and more visibility through our dedicated branding stands and will hopefully complement our customer contact points in retail stores,” Verbrugghe explained.
The event hosted by Canon Middle East Distributors for the UAE IT Market, Redington Gulf Fze and SIMBA Global LLC culminated in an exciting presentation of Canon’s latest range of products that will be launched in the region, including the IR 2020L, Portable Document Scanner P 150, XMARK 1 mouse, as well as the latest range of Projector, and market-leading inkjet and laser printer line ups.
