The one question that I dread the most during a job interview is this: “What are your greatest weaknesses?”

I bet you hate that question too but if you think about it beforehand and prepare well for your interview in general, this question can be a job interview jackpot.

First of all, it’s better if you lay out your weaknesses in front of your potential employer before things get serious between you. When you bring up your professional weaknesses whether related to skills related to the job or general ones such as communication, you get to find out if your employer can handle these by offering you assistance or training later on or if it’s a deal-breaker for them.

Second of all, you will hit the jackpot of interviews because you will have the opportunity to talk with ease and humility about your most vulnerable traits. Most of hiring managers will be able to see the confidence behind revealing your weaknesses with such honesty and confidence and hopefully will think of you as a partner in the process.

So come prepared with your answer for your weak points but don’t stop there. Talk about how you struggled in certain areas in your X job and what you did to improve. Express your desire and commitment to change those negative traits or weak skills.
