ALBAWABA – Waze, a Google subsidiary known for its satellite navigation software on smartphones and other GPS-enabled devices, revealed sensitive data about DeepSeek, a Chinese artificial intelligence company that develops open-source large language models (LLMs).
DeepSeek sensitive data exposed
The American internet security firm Waze reported the exposure of sensitive data from DeepSeek, a well-known Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) startup, according to Reuters. Waze stated that the startup failed to secure over a million lines of its data.
The exposed data included digital keys for programs and chat logs. Notably, DeepSeek fixed the data after being notified by Waze.

Waze officials stated that DeepSeek was able to delete the data and conceal it within about an hour, but other sources likely noticed the data, just as Waze did.
DeepSeek popularity
DeepSeek’s recent surge in popularity over the past week has sparked excitement in China and concern in the United States. The company is now strongly competing with ChatGPT at a much lower cost.
It is worth noting that DeepSeek released its V3 model with significant features that outperform ChatGPT and Llama. Developers can now download and modify the new DeepSeek V3 model to perform multiple tasks, including coding and translation.
