Were you one of thousands of residents who woke up to a text message from 'Faz3' on Wednesday morning?

If so, then you were one of thousands to be personally invited to take part in the Dubai Fitness Challenge by none other than Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council. Now if that's not enough to urge you to take up the initiative, we don't know what is.

Just hours after taking to Twitter to challenge some of Dubai's top companies to take up the '30 minute x 30 days' fitness initiative, it was the residents who were next on Sheikh Hamdan's list.

Carrying a link to the registration page of the DFC website, the text read: "I challenge you to join the Dubai Fitness Challenge", and was signed off by Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The text left many Du and Etisalat customers reeling with surprise and excitement, and it was soon met with a flurry of acceptance posts on social media.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, the Crown Prince asked Emaar, Jumeirah Group, Emirates NBD and GEMS Education Group to commit to 30 minutes of exercise daily, from October 20 to November 18, adding yet more companies to the long list of those being personally challenged by him.
