SchaubLorenz – a 120 year old German brand, a name built on tradition and innovation with a history of more than 60 years in consumer electronics made its debut at a glittering ceremony held in Dubai with the appointment of Crescent General Trading – trading division of the Nikai Group of companies - as its sole distributor in UAE. Major attraction at the event included the unveiling of the most expensive and ultra luxurious LCD TV by SchaubLorenz.
The 40 inch diamond LCD TV is studded with 150 20 – carat diamonds in a white gold setting. Each of these diamonds are of V VS1 brilliant white color. The TV has a 1080i and 720p high definition resolution picture and a contrast ratio of 1200:1. It comes equipped with an exquisite sleek remote to go with the aesthetically appealing piece.
Priced at US$130,000, this diamond LCD television is the most expensive TV set in the world. This eco friendly TV is made with degradable and reusable components consisting of Glass (47%), Aluminum (3%) and Iron (10%) allowing this unique TV to be 45% more recyclable than a normal TV with many plastic parts. The TV is completely hand-made – piece by piece construction- making it screw and welding less. Another special feature of the TV includes the logo which is serigrafied in a special way enabling colour change in switch on or off mode. The functions on the television are all activated by feather touch of a finger.
Present at the ceremony were top officials from the Nikai Group of Companies, SchaubLorenz, German Consulate General and the local dealers. Apart from being the sole distributors in UAE, Nikai Group of Companies has taken up exclusive distribution rights in Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen and Oman.
