University of Dubai welcomes new students

The University of Dubai (UD) organized the New Student Orientation Program, Bidayaat, on Thursday, March 4, on its campus in Deira. Bidayaat is designed specially for the new students registered for the spring semester 2012 at UD, to begin their undergraduate experience with ease and comfort.

 The program provided rich information about academic majors, registration, scholarships, careers, health care, sports and social activities, and student groups. The new students were also given the chance to tour the campus and visit the President’s Office and met their academic advisors, discussed their study plan, learned about the offered courses and received their ID cards. 

Amina El Marzak, Director of Student & Alumni Affairs, said:  “It is a good opportunity for students to get familiar with the UD community, meet faculty, staff members and potential classmates. In addition, they will get the chance to receive answers to all their questions.” 

Bidayaat is a program organized by the Department of Student Services in collaboration with volunteer students, faculty and staff, and is open to students coming directly from high school, transferring from other universities and working students.
