Samsung Monitors win three SEAD Global Awards
Samsung Electronics is proud to announce that it has won three prestigious SEAD Global Awards from the Super-efficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) Initiative. The S22C200 monitor won best medium-sized product below 23-inches, the S27C450 won best large-sized product above 23-inches and a 23.6-inch LED backlit prototype computer monitor received the SEAD Global Efficiency Medal in Emerging Technology. The SEAD Global Awards recognize the most energy efficient computer monitors across four geographic regions.
Han Seok-ju, Executive Director of Image Display Samsung Electronics, said, “We are honored to receive this award from SEAD. Samsung places a high priority on environmental sustainability and is committed to designing products that are eco-friendly. We make every effort to apply green technologies to our monitors, reducing the impact on the environment and saving our customers money on their energy bills.”
The 23.6-inch LED backlit prototype computer monitor that received the Global Efficiency Medal for Emerging Technology is 53% more efficient than comparable displays available on the market today. The award-winning monitor will be commercially available globally within the next two years.
The SEAD Global Awards were launched in 2011 at the Clean Energy Ministerial conference attended by energy ministers from 16 countries including France, Germany and Korea. The Awards evaluate products sold in North America, Europe, Australia and India for their energy efficiency.
