Samsung Electronics Levant Concludes Second Cycle of "Samsung Innovation Campus" with 245% Growth in Graduates
Samsung Electronics Levant announced the conclusion of the second session of its free, advanced training program in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and programming under Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC). This initiative is one of the Samsung’s flagship corporate social responsibility programs and a leading global educational platform in information and communication technology. SIC aims to equip young people with the digital skills necessary to remain at the forefront of technological transformation and actively contribute to the job market.
Building on the remarkable success of the first edition, the second session recorded a substantial increase in youth participation and positive performance indicators, underscoring the program’s growing impact in developing regional talent. This cycle attracted 784 applicants, of whom 130 completed the training and 89 graduated, compared to 41 graduates across Jordan and Iraq in the first session.
Jordan achieved a remarkable 245% growth in the number of graduates compared to the first cycle. Lebanon joined the program for the first time, enabling qualified participants to demonstrate the Lebanese youth’s strong interest in the digital economy, achieving the highest number of graduates with 42 certificates. Iraq also maintained its active participation with a dedicated group of students who showcased exceptional enthusiasm for applying AI knowledge in real-world contexts.
The impressive results were driven by the program’s integrated approach, led and supervised by global data science expert Murad Suleiman, with support from a team of facilitators. Over nine weeks and 270 training hours, participants engaged in both theoretical and practical components of AI, supported by interactive weekly live sessions, direct mentorship, and asynchronous learning opportunities that allowed trainees flexible access to materials. Continuous support was provided 24/7 via dedicated Slack channels and email.
Commenting on the program’s success, Jongho Kang, President of Samsung Electronics Levant, expressed pride in the continued achievements of the Samsung Innovation Campus, noting its growing impact on youth development across the region. He stated, “We are proud of the continued success of the Samsung Innovation Campus and the tangible results it delivers, not only through the number of participants and their outcomes, but through its lasting impact on young people’s knowledge and skills. Through such initiatives, Samsung continues to empower the region’s youth to become innovative leaders capable of transforming knowledge into real solutions that drive positive change in society.”
Participants also shared their appreciation for the learning experience. Shifa Al-Hindi from Jordan said the course provided her with valuable technical and practical knowledge, enhancing her innovation and problem-solving skills while opening new horizons in AI. Kawthar Zaraket from Lebanon described the course as an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, deepening her understanding of the mathematical foundations of AI technologies and strengthening her confidence in turning ideas into viable projects. Abdullah Hussein from Iraq added that the program went beyond traditional learning, offering him a platform to train, grow, and boost his confidence in using AI creatively to serve his community.
Through continued expansion of the Samsung Innovation Campus, Samsung Electronics Levant reaffirms its role as a key partner in developing human capital and advancing Samsung’s vision of empowering people through technology.
