Qatar Foundation and Siemens celebrate success of joint training programme

Three exceptional members of staff from Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) have become the first graduates of a joint training initiative developed in collaboration with Siemens WLL Qatar, entitled ‘The Qatar Foundation and Siemens Talent Training Programme’.
QF partnered with Siemens in September 2015, in an agreement to provide comprehensive professional training for selected individuals over a period of six months. Up to six QF employees will participate in the second phase of this unique programme, beginning next month.
The achievements of the QF employees - Ahmed Al-Sumaiti, Haya Al-Khater, and Aisha Al-Mohannadi, were celebrated at a ceremony attended by Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, Fahad Al-Qahtani, President of Community Development at Qatar Foundation, Janina Kugel, Member of the Managing Board and Head of Human Resources People & Development, Siemens AG, and Fatih Sakiz, CEO Siemens WLL, among many other prestigious guests. The inaugural ‘Ceremony of Talent’ event showcased the active and sustained efforts of both companies to further unlock human potential in Qatar by investing in human capital.
The three QF staff members were specially selected as high potential individuals who could benefit professionally from the enriching work environment of the renowned global technology company. Their commitment was recognised by both QF and Siemens, as they received certificates of commendation from Fahad Al-Qahtani and Janina Kugel, and praised as exemplary programme participants.
Mr Al-Qahtani said: “We are delighted to be honouring this first group of Qatar Foundation employees, who have set the standard for this insightful six-month training programme with Siemens. The initiative advances the knowledge, experience and transferable skills of our staff, who enrich our organisational culture, and will subsequently contribute to the advancement of professional best practice within QF.”
“At Qatar Foundation we believe that our employees are our greatest asset, and we are really proud of their achievements,” he added.
Aisha Al-Mohannadi, one of the three QF employees who participated in the programme, revealed: “The training was such an invaluable professional experience, but I feel like it also developed me personally. I was quite shy when I entered the programme, but I really came out of my shell with the encouragement of my Siemens mentors. I have benefitted immensely from all the different events and activities involved in the programme, and I am certain this experience will allow me to better serve Qatar Foundation.”
Fatih Sakiz,CEO of Siemens WLL Qatar said: “It was our great pleasure to train these high calibre Qatar Foundation employees as part of our ongoing partnership with QF. The agreement to provide a series of six-month training programmes is mutually advantageous and utilises our combined resources to further enhance Qatar’s development and workforce. Today’s ‘Ceremony of Talent’ demonstrates the success of the initiative, and we look forward to welcoming the second group next month.”
The ‘Qatar Foundation and Siemens Talent Training Programme’ is the latest initiative to be jointly created by QF and Siemens. The two organisations are already collaborating on the QF Tram System, as well as continually working to transform QF’s flagship development, Education City, into an environmentally-friendly ‘smart city’. In doing so, the partnership is helping to fulfil the Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV2030) facilitating Qatar’s transition into a knowledge-based economy, while fostering an advanced, prosperous society.
