Mashreq receives Employer of the Year Award in the private sector from Dubai Women’s College

Mashreq, one of the UAE’s leading financial institutions was recently awarded the ‘Employer of the Year’ Award in the Private Sector from Dubai Women’s College (DWC), a Higher Colleges of Technology flagship institution. The award is a testimonial towards the bank’s efforts towards Emiratisation and empowering Emirati students and providing the necessary training to develop their skills.
H.E. Ahmad Al Tayer handed the award to Shaker Zainal, Head of Distribution at Mashreq, who received the award on behalf of the bank. Dubai Women’s College awarded Mashreq based on the bank’s distinctive training and mentoring programs designed for students to instill the necessary banking skills and tools in them. One of the highlights is Mashreq’s recruitment strategy towards the graduates of DWC, employment of the students in part-time job placements within the bank and enrolling them in the management training program, Mashreq Al Mustaqbal.

Mashreq has developed dedicated programs to be able to recruit, train, develop and retain UAE Nationals employees. One of the various programs is Mashreq Al Mustaqbal program, which seeks high potential fresh graduates, Part Time Program and College Work Placement Program, which is a flexible program for undergraduates.

To date, Mashreq achieved 41.53% of Emiratisation across all its units in the bank. Being a lead player towards the Emiratisation initiative, Mashreq is setting an example by partnering with many local entities, universities and colleges to promote and attract Emarati workforce in the banking field.
