Ford shows way of the future with phenomenal lineup at the 2013 Dubai International Motor Show

It’s a jaw-dropping moment for visitors at the Ford stand at this year’s Dubai International Motor show (November 5-9, 2013) when they see first-hand the company's latest line-up of all-new and dramatically refreshed products bearing the latest technologies and innovations. 

Ford fans are in for a real treat as the all-new Ford Fusion takes center stage together with the all-new EcoSport compact SUV, adding further zing and fun to the Blue Oval’s dynamic range in the Middle East. 

This year’s lineup is the strongest ever for Ford in the region, featuring models in all segments from the sub-compact Fiesta through the full-size Taurus, the compact EcoSport SUV thru the Expedition and F-Series pickup trucks. Visitors to the Ford stand located inside Hall 1 of the Dubai World Trade Center are also in for a big treat thanks to the massive and award-winning Ford Atlas Concept truck which promises to wow everyone.

Ford’s hottest products are on display at the 2013 Dubai International Motor Show until November 9. In the sedan segment, Ford Fusion is in the spotlight joined by the sporty Taurus SHO, Mustang Shelby 500, Focus ST and Fiesta.  In the utility vehicle and truck segments, Ford showcases: the all-new EcoSport, Edge Sport, Escape, Expedition, Explorer Sport, Ranger, F-150, F-150 SVT Raptor and the Atlas Concept truck. 

Key Highlights of Ford Lineup

Ford Fusion

The highly-anticipated all-new Fusion makes its regional debut offering an unprecedented portfolio of segment leading driver assistance and convenience technologies based on sensors, cameras and radar that enable the car to see and respond. 

Fusion helps drivers maintain proper lane position, adjust vehicle speed to changing traffic conditions, identify suitable parking spaces and help park, even aiding drivers backing out of parking space where visibility is obstructed. 

Ford Taurus SHO

The 2014 Ford Taurus SHO is the sportiest Taurus yet, blending a fuel-efficient EcoBoost® engine, enhanced driving dynamics and performance-inspired design with smart technology such as the newly available Lane-Keeping System. 

The Taurus SHO drivetrain continues to use the award-winning and fuel-efficient 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, delivering 365 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to a six-speed high-capacity 6F55 SelectShift automatic transmission. 

Signature Ford technology is a key attribute of the new Taurus SHO, with the addition of standard MyFord Touch driver connect technology powered by SYNC and the replacement of several traditional knobs and controls with clear, colorful LCD screens and five-way buttons. The screens can be personalized to display information relevant to each individual driver using voice command, a simple button click or touch-screen tap. 

Ford Mustang GT500

For 2014, SVT keeps the Shelby GT500 on the cutting edge of technology and takes muscle car performance to new heights. 

The 5.8-liter aluminum-block V8 engine produces 662 horsepower and 631 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful production V8 in the world.  Nearly every part of the powertrain has been optimised for producing the massive horsepower, including the supercharger, cross-drilled block and heads, camshaft profiles, carbon fiber driveshaft and upgraded clutch, transmission and axle. 

Shelby GT500’s driving dynamics work in concert with all the content on the car. Handling, all AdvanceTrac settings and steering assist levels within selectable steering have been tuned to account for the massive powertrain output. The unique traction control system and electronic stability control settings help drivers achieve maximum performance on both street and track. 

The Ford Mustang is about to become the newest member of a very exclusive club – vehicles in continuous production for 50 years. Ford EcoSport

The all-new Ford EcoSport, arrives in the Middle East as a strong contender in the compact SUV segment. The all-new model keeps up to Ford’s commitment to deliver a stunning-looking product that packs in outstanding value and raises the bar in the region’s fast-growing compact utility segment with its compelling value-for-money proposition and features. 

Ford EcoSport comes with an attractive price and consumers will have the power of choice with a selection of three trim levels (Ambiente, Trend and the high end Titanium), as well as the option of a manual or automatic transmission paired with a fuel efficient 1.5L engine. 

Ford Expedition

The 2014 Ford Expedition provides top-end towing capability of 9,200 pounds, spaciousness and power for those seeking a do-it-all full-size SUV. The independent multilink rear suspension adds comfort and roominess. The array of equipment groups offers a variety of comfort, convenience, capability and appearance options, as well as extended-length versions. 

The full-size SUV includes key features such as: new available mechanical load-leveling system is quieter than outgoing air-based system; up to 8.5 km/L highway from the flex fuel-capable 5.4-liter V8 engine and six-speed automatic transmission; standard rear-wheel drive; four-wheel drive available; SYNC^® system features USB or Bluetooth^® connectivity; 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels as well as dual-head-restraint DVD system available on Limited and King Ranch; standard trailer sway control, which uses selective braking and engine management to tame unwanted trailer movement; integrated trailer brake controller available on XLT, standard on Limited and King Ranch; and, Ford’s leading safety and security features. 

Ford Atlas

The Ford Atlas Concept is inspired by decades of listening to customers at the places they work and play. The result is a purpose-driven design with prominent wheel arches, a wide stance and chiseled grille – all to reinforce its functional Built Ford Tough^® image. 

Designers enhanced truck functionality, while creating new advanced features. For example, multiple tie-down points are integrated within the cargo box walls and load floor, along with 110-volt electrical outlets in the cargo box to charge power tools. An integrated roof carrying system and hidden extendable ramps give the truck unique functionality for a variety of jobs. 

The Ford Atlas Concept features a next-generation EcoBoost^® powertrain, which introduces truck-enhanced Auto Start-Stop engine shutoff technology. Auto Start-Stop shuts off the engine when stopped in traffic to save fuel – and smartly suspends the feature when the truck knows it is towing. 

Ford Stand Activities

Show visitors can expect a lot of action on the Ford stand with the adrenaline-pumping F-150 SVT Raptor ultimate off-road simulator, the Ranger Truck Torque challenge, the Ford Design Studio and Mustang the Look photo snap features, as well as the ever-fun mass crowd steering with the EcoSport and lots of entertainment courtesy of the all-new Ford Fusion.
