Empower Initiates Cervical Health Awareness Campaign in Dubai

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (EMPOWER), the world's largest district cooling service provider, conducted an awareness campaign on cervical health to create awareness about cervical health and cancer prevention. The initiative, titled ‘Cervical Health Awareness Campaign’, was launched through a session in partnership with International Modern Hospital led by a doctor specialist in obstetrics/ gynecology. The campaign was organised in observance of the World Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, which ran from 22 to 28 January 2018, and in support to the objectives of the UN Sustainable Goals, Dubai Plan 2021, and the UAE Year of Zayed initiative.

Cervical cancer is the second leading cancer among women in the UAE, which health experts say is highly preventable if there are efforts in knowing more about the disease as well as implementing measures to avoid it through screening and vaccination.

Empower aims to promote proactive and preventive approach to wellness among its staff members through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Apart from education and promotion, Empower has also partnered with its healthcare providers to provide employees with free screening packages.
