The Dubai Data Establishment – a subsidiary of the Smart Dubai Office (SDO) – has announced the fourth “Dubai Data Compliance Course”, in collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG).

The workshop seeks to develop the knowledge and skills of data officials and employees in government and private sector entitites, in order to meet international standards and offer best-in-class services to customers. Smart Dubai also announced that participation in the course is open to local and federal government entities and the private sector, following the great success and impressive turnout of the previous instalments.

Fifteen entities are set to take part in the fourth Data Compliance Course, representing local and federal Government departments, as well as the free zones. These include the Community Development Authority (CDA); the Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA); the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Dubai Courts; the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department; and the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Younus Al Nasser, Assistant Director General, Smart Dubai Office and CEO, Dubai Data Establishment, applauded the great turnout witnessed across all editions of the course, saying: “Through three consecutive instalments of the Dubai Data Compliance Course, Smart Dubai has sought to develop the skillsets of participants from various government departments, and to increase their awareness and knowledge of the data sector – particularly, organising, publishing and sharing data, which is the backbone of all smart-city transformation projects.”

“With these workshops, we are looking to foster greater cooperation among government and private entities in the UAE,” Al Nasser added. “With that in mind, we opened participation to all Government bodies, local and federal, as well as to the private sector, in an effort to share the Dubai Data Establishment’s knowledge and expertise with regards to exchanging data, building a robust knowledge infrastructure, and upgrading services to ensure a superior customer experience.”

Meanwhile, H.E. Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, MBRSG’s Executive President, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the Dubai Data Establishment for the Dubai Data Compliance Course, which is an ideal platform for introducing participants to the latest data-related technologies. This platform allows us to build capacity and raise awareness about the importance of data and its uses in a streamlined, systematic and scientific manner. The workshop also discusses ways to employ the acquired knowledge to upgrade government services.”

“The course helps develop decision makers’ programming and artificial intelligence skills, keeping them updated with regards to the latest developments surrounding big data and its multiple applications. It is an opportunity to discuss bold, innovative ideas that will upgrade and distinguish future government operations in Dubai,” H.E. Al Marri added.

The Dubai Data Compliance Course was designed to meet the needs and requirements of all participating entities. It covers several key topics pertaining to Dubai Data, which allow Government departments to upgrade their services, ensure customer satisfaction, and periodically assess their performance and adjust procedures.
