Dubai Customs joins people of determination students in celebrating National Day

As part of their activities on the National Day, Dubai Customs celebrated the occasion on 29th November 2022 with 174 students from the Ministry of Community Development’s people of determination center. 

Employees of CSR Section, Ghayath Volunteer Team and K9 Unit team and a number of customs inspectors participated in the event.

Dubai Customs’ involvement in this event aimed at empowering these students to help them integrate well in society and involve them in all sectors. 

There was a show for the K9 Unit and many gifts were distributed to the students. 

Dubai Customs addresses people of determination through a number of events and activities that aim to raise awareness around active involvement of this category, especially on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (people of determination), which is observed every year on 3 December. 

Dubai Customs provides support to people of determination clients and employees including a client guide in Braille at different customs centers, architectural designs and wayfinding systems for blind and visually impaired persons, and a face ID camera. People of determination employees at Dubai Customs use electric wheel chairs to help them do their work easily. 

Equipment and devices used by people of determination are exempt of customs duties.
