Aluminium Week proves a great success

EMAL President and CEO, Saeed Fadhel Al Mazrooei , declared Aluminium Week a great success for EMAL and Abu Dhabi today. For the first time ever three of the aluminium industry’s major events were held in the same place at the same time as Abu Dhabi hosted business leaders from around the world.
During Aluminium Week EMAL hosted the Gulf Aluminium Council’s GAC Annual Dinner at Emirates Palace on 29 April. This was followed the next day by the Annual General Meeting of the International Aluminium Institute (IAI). On the same day, 30 April, the CRU’s 17th World Aluminium Conference began. EMAL was the host sponsor of the three-day World Aluminium Conference and the conference’s signature dinner.
Al Mazrooei continued: “It was an important week for the aluminium industry and for the UAE. We were able to showcase to the world that the UAE is the land of opportunities for a successful business. With a peerless mix of stability, resources, business prospects, growth and quality of life, the UAE has created a haven for hope and prosperity in an uncertain world. The future is bright for EMAL, Abu Dhabi and the UAE.”
Delivering the inaugural address to the CRU World Aluminium Conference yesterday, Al Mazrooei, praised the vision of the country’s leaders in establishing a primary aluminium industry in the UAE, how the industry has grown into a significant global power and promoted the advantages that the UAE has to offer for customers and partners around the world. He finished with an invitation to everyone at the conference to join this journey of success.
Opening the conference, CRU Chairman, Robert Perlman, praised the work of EMAL and Abu Dhabi in attracting the highest ever number of delegates over 420 from more than 30 countries. Mr Perlman said: “I would like to thank EMAl they have been wonderful hosts and we are delighted with the interest that has been shown in the event from around the world.”
