AL Habtoor Group hosts Risk Management workshop

Senior members of the Al Habtoor Group attended a workshop on Risk Management on Monday October 8, 2012. It involved managers from all divisions of the Group including automotive, hotels, education, real estate and publishing.
The workshop was held at the Habtoor Grand Resort and Spa in Dubai and was attended by nearly 100 staff. It covered topics such as technology trends and dilemmas, managing credit risk and business continuity.
Khalaf Al Habtoor, Chairman, Al Habtoor Group said the Group takes a pro-active approach to risk management. He added, “Ensuring business continuity is a top priority throughout the Group. We have put in place all the necessary steps for an effective Risk Management framework. Arming our management with the right skills is key to our development and future success. This is in line with our confidence to grow with the UAE.”
He added: “The workshop was aimed at ensuring ethical standards and practices are used to identify potential issues before they arise.”
R. Venkataraman, Director, Corporate Governance and Risk Management, Al Habtoor Group said, “The Group is working towards obtaining an ISO 31000 certification within the next two years as part of our future plans.”
ISO 31000 is a set of standards relating to risk management codified by the International Organization for Standardization.
