Airport International Group Partners with King Hussein Cancer Foundation to Support the Jordan Breast Cancer Program

Recognizing the importance of raising public awareness on the early detection of cancer, Airport International Group (AIG) – the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) – partnered with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC) to support the Jordan Breast Cancer Program (JBCP) during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and throughout the year.
All through October, AIG designated airport branding spaces for JBCP, distributed informative flyers at QAIA, and booked screening exams for its female employees.
In addition, AIG showed awareness and moral support for breast cancer patients by displaying the campaign’s globally-recognized pink ribbon symbol at the airport’s entrance, while its staff wore the pink ribbon pins in solidarity throughout the month.
In November, and as part of AIG’s ongoing CSR initiatives aimed at empowering local communities living in the vicinity of the airport, the Company will sponsor KHCF’s outreach program in Al Jizah and Zizya, conducting awareness lectures and providing women with free screening exams for the early detection of breast cancer. KHCF Coin Collection boxes are also available year-round at QAIA to help raise funds for the Foundation.
In addition, AIG’s CEO Kjeld Binger signed an agreement with KHCF’s Director General HRH Princess Dina Mired during her visit to QAIA to enroll AIG’s employees in KHCF’s nonprofit Cancer Care Programme (CCP) in return for a minimal annual subscription fee that will be covered by the Company. CCP provides cancer care coverage and guaranteed treatment at KHCC, which is one of the top cancer centers in the world.
Princess Dina Mired expressed her deep appreciation for AIG for their continuous support, adding “I would like to thank AIG for supporting our mission in the fight against cancer, which reflects their deep understanding of the importance of helping nonprofit organizations and for being a positive role model for other companies in corporate social responsibility.”
In turn, Binger stated, “The King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s relentless fight against cancer in all of its forms is an admirable endeavor, and one that AIG is fully committed to supporting.
Through our involvement in JBCP, we hope to help create a well-informed society and enable women to overcome breast cancer in its early stages. We look forward to building a long-term partnership with the Center and collaborating on other projects in the future.”
