Abu Dhabi University to host Alumni Homecoming 2012 and 5th Anniversary Reunion

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and President of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Trustees, the University and its Alumni Association are hosting “Alumni Homecoming 2012” and “The 5th Anniversary Reunion for the Classes of 2006 & 2007” this evening (Wednesday). Held at Abu Dhabi University’s campus, the celebration aims to strengthen the University’s ties with former graduates and highlight the different areas through which they can contribute to the advancement and development of their alma mater.
H.E Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri Chairman of Abu Dhabi University’s Executive Board stressed the importance of this initiative as it falls in line with the University’s mission, and highlights it’s effectiveness in building cohesive and collaborative relationships with our graduates. “Abu Dhabi University is also working closely with the Alumni Association to develop a detailed database of the professions of our former graduates in different business sectors, in addition to getting their feedback on the development of programs offered at the University, and discussing the University’s strategy in teaching, scientific research and community service. Especially with our first graduating class of 2006 and 2007, who have witnessed the University’s advancement since its inception to this very day”, added Bin Harmal.
Bin Harmal explained that homecoming and reunion celebrations create tremendous opportunities for our recent graduates to consider Abu Dhabi University’s master and doctoral degrees, as well as the University’s continuing education programs, all of which they can benefit from in enhancing their professional skills and advancing their careers.
On his part, Raja Nahas Executive Director for University Advancement pointed out that Abu Dhabi University is committed to communicating and collaborating with its graduates, all of whom are going to be the Abu Dhabi University’s ambassadors in various business sectors throughout the country and the region. He added that the University established the Alumni Association, which is overseen by a board of directors that comprises some of the University’s finest graduates, and they continuously follow up on the needs of the University’s alumni.

The dream began with the Charter of Abu Dhabi University in the year 2000, After three years of planning, the university opened its doors in September 2003, to an entering class of 1,000 students on its two campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Unlike other colleges and universities in the UAE, ADU undertook the measures necessary to ensure that all of the degree programs it would offer had secured accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in advance of any students enrolling in them.
