Abu Dhabi University’s Career Fair 2012 kicks off on 27 November
Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Vice-President of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Trustees, the University is scheduled to launch the annual “Abu Dhabi University Career Fair 2012” on 27th November. In its fourth year, the 2-day fair will host about 55 of the region’s top organizations from a wide range of industries including; health, petroleum, environment, tourism, hotels, banking, information technology, consulting and real estate, accounting, communications, engineering, commerce and many others who are offering students and graduates career and training opportunities.
Commenting on the importance of the career fair, Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University expressed the University’s keenness in organizing this annual event as it presents a great opportunity to students and graduates alike. “The Career Fair is a platform that allows our students and graduates to meet with various employers from the public and private sector, explore various job and training opportunities, as well as evaluate whether their skills are compatible with the growing needs of the labor market or not”, explained Dr. Ibrahim.
“In its fourth year, the Abu Dhabi University Career Fair 2012 has received overwhelming responses from companies and organizations who have participated in hopes of attracting many of the University’s skilled students and graduates”, said Dr. Ibrahim. He pointed out that this year’s Career Fair has a vital new addition; the “Career Counseling Clinic" which presents students with the opportunity to meet with experts and specialists in career counseling, to offer them career guidance, how to write a successful CV, as well as training on how to leave positive impressions during job interviews.
Abu Dhabi University’s Career Fair 2012 is sponsored by “Etihad Airways” as a diamond sponsor, and “Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority”, “Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce”, and “Petrofac Emirates’ as platinum sponsors. The Fair opens from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and the public may attend either day.

The dream began with the Charter of Abu Dhabi University in the year 2000, After three years of planning, the university opened its doors in September 2003, to an entering class of 1,000 students on its two campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Unlike other colleges and universities in the UAE, ADU undertook the measures necessary to ensure that all of the degree programs it would offer had secured accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in advance of any students enrolling in them.
