ADNIF donates AED 1.5 Million to UAE Red Crescent

Abu Dhabi National Islamic Finance (ADNIF), the Islamic finance and banking arm of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), has donated AED 1, 500,000 to The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) to support people with special needs in the UAE.
The donation will go towards helping people who suffer from motor disabilities, intellectual or sensory impairments and their families.
Speaking at the ceremony for the donation Aref Ismail Al Khouri, General Manager of ADNIF, said: “The UAE Red Crescent is one of the most reputable charity organisations that help thousands of needy people in many different countries.
ADNIF is proud to support the good works of the Red Crescent to help mankind,” he added.
The UAE Red Crescent Authority was founded in 1983 and was chosen the second best humanitarian authority at the level of the continent of Asia in 2001. The authority plays an important role in charitable and humanitarian work locally and internationally in meeting the needs of the weak and afflicted. It also plays a leading role in the establishment and dissemination of the culture of volunteerism in the UAE and linking between the benefactors and the beneficiary categories to facilitate aids access.
“We believe in human development thus we endeavor to reduce hardships, improve their conditions and integrate them into society,” said Mr. Rashid Al Mansoori, Manager of the RCA - Abu Dhabi branch. “People with special needs are part of the society and regardless of their disabilities they deserve to have equal opportunities as others,” he explained.
ADNIF is engaged in many vital activities and projects that support the society, and are in line with NBAD’s Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CSR) visions and objectives, such as education, health, community development and sports.
“Corporate Social Responsibly is one of ADNIF's main pillars and supporting people with special needs confirms its commitment towards the communities in which we carry our business,” said Mr. Al Khouri.
