Abu Dhabi University discusses collaboration with its strategic partners

Abu Dhabi University recently met 12 community institutions and suppliers of various goods and services from different business sectors, to discuss the prospects of joint cooperation in the field of education, information technology, quality assurance, and the development of internal and external communications. Held during the University’s second annual “Supplier’s Award 2012”, the meeting also acknowledges stakeholders for their contributions to the advancement of Abu Dhabi University and their continuous support which enables the University to deliver a leading higher education experience to students, faculty and staff. 

Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University stressed the University’s keenness in developing strategic partnerships with community institutions, in both the public and private sectors. “Through striving to improve the delivery of customer experience to the University during the academic year 2011 -2012, our strategic partners have enabled Abu Dhabi University to achieve excellence and provide a unique educational experience to its students, faculty and staff”, added Dr. Ibrahim.

Dr. Ibrahim praised Abu Dhabi University’s strategic partners for their efforts in providing the best services with transparency, accuracy and quality. He pointed out that in recognition of their outstanding performance and contribution in supporting Abu Dhabi University and as part of the Supplier’s Award 2012, the University has evaluated the performance of each of these companies and suppliers within 6 categories according to several criteria, including quality, accuracy of delivery, reliability, customer service, and satisfaction. 

On his part, Vice Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University Dr. Terry Motiuk noted that in its second year the “Supplier’s Award” initiative aims to recognize our strategic partners and be a strong incentive to for further collaborations with the University. 

The Supplier’s Award honorees are as follows: in the category of information technology: Waves Computer Supplies and Al Majid I.T Solutions, in textbooks and references: Friendship Bookshop and All Prints Distributors and Publishers, in hotel accommodations and banqueting: Ayla Hotel and Mafreq Hotel, in furniture and fixtures: Furnicraft LLC. and Exotica Furnishings, in office supplies and consumables: Color Works Computer LLC. and Beauty Line Stationery, and in marketing collaterals: SMS Trading LLC. and Vertex Trading.

The dream began with the Charter of Abu Dhabi University in the year 2000, After three years of planning, the university opened its doors in September 2003, to an entering class of 1,000 students on its two campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Unlike other colleges and universities in the UAE, ADU undertook the measures necessary to ensure that all of the degree programs it would offer had secured accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in advance of any students enrolling in them.
