Lord Mayor of the City of London discusses financial cooperation in Bahrain

Mr. Alderman David Brewer, The Lord Mayor of the City of London visited Wednesday the Bahrain Monetary Agency (BMA). The Lord Mayor and his accompanying delegation, currently on an official visit to Bahrain, were welcomed by Mr. Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, Governor of the BMA, and senior BMA officials.

 

During the visit BMA officials highlighted the size and scope of Bahrain’s diverse financial services industry, comprising banking, insurance and capital markets, as well as the BMA’s role in regulating and supervising the industry.  On his part, Brewer praised Bahrain's position as a leading financial centre in the region.

 

The two sides also discussed ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the financial arena and of strengthening relations and current alliances.

 

Also attending the meeting from the BMA were the Deputy Governor, Mr. Anwar Al Sadah, Executive Directors and other senior officials.
