Every year, some 1.6 million car batteries are produced in Iran while the total domestic demand for them is twice.
According to MNA, the industry suffers from a lack of skilled workers and experts. In addition, local battery makers do not provide the Ministry of Industries and Mines with proper information on their work since they do not know enough about the regulations.
Private companies have to compete with the only state-owned battery maker, Niroo, and this limits the output of batteries in the country. Therefore, foreign companies such mainly from China achieve this opportunity to enter the Iranian lucrative market.
