ALBAWABA – Amid the recently announced tariffs by US President Donald Trump and his administration, iPhone prices could soar to nearly three times their original cost, rising from about $1,100 to $3,500. Apple users in the United States are rushing to buy their iPhones now before it is too late.
iPhone price surge amid Trump’s new tariffs
Over the weekend, multiple Apple stores across the United States reported a surge in store visits, as people rushed to buy iPhones before Trump’s newly announced tariffs take effect. According to sources, the iPhone 16 could potentially cost around $3,500—about three times its previous price of $1,100—due to the recent tariffs imposed by Trump and his administration.
The price surge will occur as Apple’s most popular products are primarily manufactured in China, which will face nearly 54% in imposed tariffs.
“Almost every customer asked me if prices were going to go up soon. People are just rushing in worried and asking questions,” said Apple stores employees.
Notably, this surge over the past weekend led to exceptionally high sales at Apple stores, comparable to the sales typically recorded during holiday seasons.

Apple’s stock price dropped immediately after the announcement of the tariffs
It is worth noting that the company’s stocks dropped significantly following the announcement of the new tariffs. Apple’s valuation fell by more than half a trillion dollars last week.
As a result, Apple is planning to move away from manufacturing most of its products in China.
Notably, the company is considering other countries and markets, including India, Vietnam, Ireland, Thailand, and Malaysia—locations Apple has previously used to manufacture products like Watches, Macs, AirPods, iPads, and certain Mac models.
