Google announced its pledged €25 million to support startups and individuals learn critical AI skills in Europe, with academy initiatives across the globe.

ALBAWABA – Google, who recently launched their Gemini AI app to Android and iOS, has recently announced it is pledging €25 million ($26.9 million) to assist in offering education and training so that individuals and nations can effectively utilize use of AI, providing a variety of basic and advanced AI training in collaboration with local governments and communities to benefit businesses, underserved populations, and everyone else.

The internet giant said on Monday that it has launched applications for European social entrepreneurs and organizations that may assist in reaching people who would most benefit from training, in addition to announcing financing opportunities.

Google has also increased the number of languages in which its free online AI training classes are available to 18, additionally, it will also be hosting a number of "growth academies" to assist businesses employing AI to grow.

Adrian Brown, the executive director of the Centre for Public Impact, a nonprofit organization that is managing the program with Google, has stated “Research shows that the benefits of AI could exacerbate existing inequalities — especially in terms of economic security and employment,” according to Reuters, adding that the new program will ensure no one is left behind; by helping people throughout Europe develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence around AI.

A new set of Google for Startups Growth Academies is being offered around Europe, the Middle East, and Africa as part of the AI Opportunity Initiative, an equity-free initiative aiming to help firms that use AI to address the most pressing issues facing society, such as cybersecurity, education, and health. 

Google is hoping for startups to expand their user base, scale, and reach a worldwide audience by utilizing Google's tools, best practices, and expert contacts, according to The Fast Mode, with a focus on marginalized and vulnerable groups in particular who will be receiving €10 million of the overall grant.
