The representative committee of the Dubai Foodstuffs Trading Business Group elected David N. Rushton to be its Chairman at a recent meeting at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).
Rushton is General Manager of Freshly Frozen Foods, a Dubai-based food manufacturing and trading company, which serves markets across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Europe and the United States.
He worked as an environmental health officer in the UK before joining Dubai Municipality in 1991 as Head of Food Control. Since 1999 Rushton has been a private food consultant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Dubai Foodstuffs Trading Business Group was created with the legal backing of DCCI in October last year. The group elected a 12-strong representative committee in December.
A total of seven new Dubai-based business groups have been set up to date. Each group has its own elected representative committee, which will work towards identifying common business objectives and strategies, and establish a business plan that represents the interests of group members. — (menareport.com)
